Why choose cash-based private Physical Therapy for your sports rehabilitation?
-
Personalized
Every athlete will have a comprehensive initial evaluation that will review their past medical history, subjectives, mechanism of injury, details of their pain and how it affects their performance. Measurements will be taken to determine flexibility, muscle strength, active and passive range of motion, biomechanics, arthrokinematics, balance, static and dynamic stability as a baseline. An assessment based on the evaluation will be reviewed and discussed with the athlete including expectations for rehab and treatment plan of care that is individualized to their personal goals. Cash based PT allows for flexibility in treatment based on the athlete’s specific needs rather than simply following the insurance company’s guidelines.
-
Consistency
Each athlete will be working directly with Dr. Rickert one on one each visit. There is constant feedback and communication throughout each session to assure that the athlete is performing with correct technique for every exercise and drill. Progress is readily able to be advanced when you have the same therapist working with you from the start to the finish of your rehab. Most traditional outpatient clinics schedule with a different clinician each visit which can interfere with the consistency and the progress of your care.
-
Cost and Utilization
Cash based PT actually offers a more cost effective option even though it seems to be a higher visit rate due to the rising cost of insurance copays, deductibles, restrictions and limitations on the physical therapy benefits. Overtime, working one on one with a personalized approach can actually speed your recovery-being more cost effective in the long run. Insurance based PT often have high deductibles, and copays which add up over time especially when it is often dictated by the insurance company. Insurance based rehab can often have set limitations on how many PT visits you are covered for and have left athletes stranded as they are approaching the higher level return to sport phase of their rehab and this leads to a higher risk of re-injury.
