Coach Rickert has a doctorate degree in Physical Therapy with 20 years of experience. She believes that God has blessed us with gifts that we are to use to Glorify Him. The perspective of a Christian-Athlete is to take care of their bodies out of thanks that they are blessed to be able to physically to what they love and compete with character as a testimony for their love for Christ. She is also the Director of Sports Medicine and Fitness and team physical therapist at Faith Christian Academy.
Her philosophy is not isolated to only sports performance but she also integrates sport specific training that focuses on injury prevention and education also including strategies to utilize the mental game as a way to optimize performance.
Technique is crucial, especially in young athletes developing their strength and conditioning. Learning how to exercise properly will reduce risk of abnormal stress on their joints and leads to a correct understanding of biomechanics and physiology as they continue to exercise throughout their lifetime.
